Legendary Guide - Gift of Fortune
Gift of Fortune, as it's name suggests, is the gift that requires the most money to be invested into obtaining it. What it requires from you is a large amount of valuable items, mostly Globs of Ectoplasm (Usually 500 in all to complete this Gift) and a lot of Tier 6 Crafting Materials to make the Gift of Magic and the Gift of Might. While both of these items might originally appear to be difficult to craft I can assure you they are both extremely easy to make compared to other things.
Before I get started with this guide I would like to take the time for a short disclaimer, if you'll humor me for one moment. Please remember that this guide is more of an outline for acquiring your Legendary Weapon. Everyone is going to have different approaches to doing their Legendary, whether it be basics like what to get first, what to get last, or where is the best place to farm X item; there are always going to be differences of opinions.
It is important that you remember getting your Legendary Weapon is not all about actually getting all of the parts together and combining them. In fact I am talking about the most difficult part for almost every player when it comes to getting their Legendary Weapons. I am talking about the part of it that requires you to keep yourself on point, motivated, goal oriented and of course, keeping things fun. If you get bored or just straight 'give up' you're going to lose the legendary faster than any other way.
77 Mystic Clovers
Mystic Clovers require Crafting inside the Mystic Forge. You'll need the following items to craft Mystic Clovers.
231 Mystic Coins
231 Globs of Ectoplasm
231 Obsidian Shards
Crystals or Philosopher's Stone
Putting all of these items into the Forge and hitting Craft isn't always going to give you a Mystic Clover. It's random and will not reward you every single time, much like many other recipes involving the Mystic Forge. You may have heard or know from experience this is one of the most well known parts, mostly just because of how long it takes to acquire all the Obsidian Shards/money to make these Clovers. I strongly recommend you take things one day at a time with gathering these components.
For Globs of Ectoplasm running CoF path 1 is a good way to build up a bunch of them. Aside from the Globs the only other item you need to 'purchase' if you don't save them when you get them everyday for doing the Daily is Mystic Coins. Even if you don't save them you don't have to worry too much as they are extremely cheap. For totals and estimated amount of CoF runs it will take to finish scroll down to the 250 Globs of Ectoplasm section below.
For the Obsidian Shards you have a few different options. You can use Karma, Laurels, Bauble Bubbles and Fractal Relics. Karma and Fractal Relics are the easiest ways to get it. Laurels are by far the most wasteful way to acquire the Obsidian Shards. Until they make a change like 10 Obsidian Shards per 1 Laurel it is a complete, total and utter waste to use them on shards. Farming for Karma can be done mostly through WvW while you're getting the Gift of Battle or from everyday farming if you follow my Guild Wars 2 Legendary Farming Guide.
If you are wondering about the best ways to get Karma regardless of what they are here is a list that is quite accurate.
1. WvW (Only if your realm is capturing objectives frequently)
2. Cursed Shore Event Farming (yea, it still works)
3. Doing World Completion for your Legendary and doing every single event you pass
1 Gift of Magic
250 Vials of Powerful Blood
250 Powerful Venom Sacs
250 Elaborate Totems
250 Piles of Crystalline Dust
The real guide that needs to be presented here for you is a money making guide. It sounds cliche but as time goes on the only up to date page I will keep for my farming guides is, you guessed it, my Gw2 Farming Guide Index page.
Although here I can give you some pointers and advice you can't get on my Farming Guide Pages...
1. Deposit Collectibles. - Seriously this feature is amazing and so totally helps out for stuff like this. If you use this all the time, you should have a good starting 'base' for the materials you'll need.
2. One Step at a Time. - Place buy Orders for a few of these items for 5 - 15% less than what they're currently at. Maybe the buy orders will be filled and you'll get the items for cheaper!
3. Heavy Bags. - Open these up, they have a chance of containing Lodestones (depending on the bag) and almost always provide you with T5/T6 materials which are required in large amounts for your Legendary Weapon.
1 GIft of Might
250 Vicious Fangs
250 Armored Scales
250 Vicious Claws
250 Ancient Bones

250 Globs of Ectoplasm
As you could already imagine this is going to be one of the most expensive parts of getting your Legendary Weapon. I strongly recommend you just let this 'roll in' over time. Don't focus on buying out 250 Globs from the Trading Post but instead salvage every rare item you get that can reward you with a Glob of Ectoplasm and then select the 'Deposit Collectibles' option. This will stockpile the Globs you have in your Collectibles tab. I strongly recommend you do this because you won't be able to see the progress you make and you also won't be able to see them on a daily basis which makes it easier to resist selling them.
Now what I mean by it makes it easier to see the progress is this... Even if you're the type of person to keep a mental note of every time you complete a task towards the legendary it works better if you just run around and deposit the Globs without actually doing this. Unless you're the optimistic type (boy do we gotta change the way you think) you'll always be happy when checking your Collectibles. Think about it like this, if you don't keep track, and do some shoddy math trying to figure out how many you have you'll be nothing but elated when you go to check your Collectibles tab.
What I recommend you do to farm up these is pretty much Citadel of Flame Path 1. CoF P1 is really good money and definitely one of the best ways for you to get Globs of Ectoplasm. For a guide on Citadel of Flame Path 1 Farming check out my Video on the location.
